We cannot intervene in the insulation afterwards.
To avoid unpleasant surprises, we should seek the advice of
of experts on insulators.
The choice of insulation materials is considered particularly critical.
An important factor in the selection of the most suitable material is
ο Thermal conductivity coefficient "λ", which characterizes each product, and which as long as
smaller it is the better thermal insulation properties it has.
The cost of insulation materials of a building statistically it is 2% of the total cost of theConstruction. In the construction phase insulation is cheap, while when the house is finished it becomes more expensive and difficult.
Expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation has the best price-performance ratio.
The new Community Directive 2002/91 EC Energy Performance Directive (EPD) of the European Parliament and the Council of 16.12.2002 requires mandatory Energy Performance Certification of all buildings in all procedures (construction, sale, rental) in old and new buildings. Each building will therefore obtain its own Energy Performance Certificate.
The new EN 13163:2015 standard, in contrast to the old ELOT 450, protects the consumer from poor quality Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) products, known until now as "Styrofoam", in which there was no distinction as far as its specifications were concerned, it was simply referred to in Kgr/m3. According to the old classification (ELOT 450 standard), it was divided into 5 basic categories with the only criterion being density: 15 / 20 / 25 / 25 / 30 / 35 Kgr/m3, without any reference to the thermal insulation properties of each category.
The new EN 13163:2015 standard classifies and categorizes Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) according to the material's performance in terms of strength (such as compression, bending, tensile), technical characteristics (such as thermal conductivity coefficient λ) and tolerances depending on use (such as dimensions, flatness), defining 16 basic categories. Each producer checks compliance with the value limits set by the standard.
Any Product now has its own Id., based on the techniques of Properties, marking as well as a feature Color, for easy Recognition by the customer.
Certified Bright White Self-extinguishing Expanded Polystyrene (EPS)
The THP group is a new subgroup of EPS Expanded Polystyrene products which was created exclusively for the application of External Thermal Insulation of Buildings which is also called Thermoprosposing and from this word the initials THP are derived. All THP group products are naturally self-extinguishing, produced from 28-day curing blocks for maximum dimensional stability under any temperature variation they are subjected to on a wall, cut to the strictest dimensional tolerances in 3 dimensions, but also in squareness and flatness, and continuously tested for tensile strength perpendicular to the surfaces and flexural strength in the company's laboratory. The basic EPS products addressed to external thermal insulation are certified beyond the main EPS standard EN 13163 and based on the requirements of EN 13499 and EAD 0404 standards governing the application of external thermal insulation through the German certification body GSH.
The types of ISOPOR THP are used by most companies that have in the Greek market External Thermal Insulation Systems with Expanded Polystyrene EPS and are the most appropriate thermal insulation solution. The application of external thermal insulation is the best thermal insulation solution in a building and especially in existing buildings since it is one of the minimum solutions that can be applied after the completion of the construction. Expanded polystyrene EPS is used in 9 out of 10 external thermal insulation applications instead of other thermal insulation materials according to data from the European Association of External Thermal Insulation Systems Companies (EAE).

(NEOCOAT EPS) suitable for external thermal insulation (ETICS)
The thermal insulating material of the future is called Neocoat. Neocoat is produced from Neopor®, a product of intensive research by BASF® and is a new innovative material made of expanded polystyrene. It has a silver grey colour and offers significantly improved thermal insulation performance compared to conventional thermal insulation materials.
Innovation in Insulation
In any material, heat is transmitted by conduction, convection and radiation. In closed cell materials such as Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) there can be no air movement and thus heat transfer by conduction is minimised.
Therefore, in conventional Expanded Polystyrene, heat transfer is mainly by convection and radiation. In Neocoat the tiny graphite molecules contained by 3% in its composition act as reflectors that prevent heat transfer by radiation, allowing only convection to contribute to heat loss. As a result, thermal insulation boards made from Neopor® have 15% - 20% better thermal insulation properties than conventional white Expanded Polystyrene (EPS).
With the exception of its improved thermal insulation performance even at low densities compared to Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), Neocoat retains all the advantages of the mechanical and ecological properties of EPS.
Neocoat is produced from self-extinguishing material which contains flame retardants (HBCD Free).
The NEOCOAT THP group is a new subgroup of EPS Expanded Polystyrene products which was created exclusively for the application of External Thermal Insulation of Buildings which is also called Thermoprotection and from this word the initials THP are derived. All products of the Neocoat THP group are produced from self-extinguishing material which contains flame retardants. For this reason, insulation boards made from BASF's Neopor® are cut from blocks that have been left in storage for 14 days before being cut into slabs, so that their contractions are completed and they have excellent dimensional stability, they are cut to the strictest dimensional tolerances in 3 dimensions, but also in squareness and flatness, and are continuously tested for tensile strength in tension perpendicular to the surfaces and in bending in the factory and in the company's laboratory. The basic EPS products addressed to external thermal insulation are certified beyond the main EPS standard EN 13163 and based on the requirements of EN 13499 and EAD 0404 standards governing the application of external thermal insulation through the German certification body GSH.

Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) from renewable materials.
The thermal insulation material of the future must be produced from raw material Neopor® BMB (biomass balance). The Neopor BMB is a BASF research product that is derived from biomass in the production process and saves valuable resources while reducing CO2 emissions. The Neopor BMB is an expandable polystyrene with graphite, made from biofuel and biogas, derived from renewable biomass sources, in specific organic or forestry waste.
The biomass balance approach of the BASF (BMB - biomass balance), certified according to the requirements of the German system REDcert2, means that the mineral raw materials required for the production of the Neopor® can be replaced with renewable raw materials. Production methods of this kind save valuable resources and reduce CO2 emissions at the same time. The company has the same certification RIZAKOS to be a certified member of the biomass management chain that meets the requirements for the production of products with a reduced carbon footprint
The thermal insulation plates of our company produced by our company are 50% from Neopor BMB and 50% from conventional Neopor, protect the environment and the climate, while maintaining their usual high quality, because the properties of the material are identical to those of its mineral equivalent. It therefore retains its excellent thermal insulation properties, is water-repellent, easy to handle, flexible and economical.
These plates protect the environment and the climate by reducing CO2 emissions throughout their life cycle. The CO2 emitted during the production of such a low carbon footprint EPS is reduced by up to 40% compared to a conventional EPS plate.

SOUND INSULATION OF IMPACT NOISE IN FLOATING FLOOR STRUCTURES WITH NEOSILENTFLOOR
Tolerable noise levels in living spaces are a prerequisite for good health. Impact noise from walking, shifting of appliances and furniture, poorly-fitted appliances, etc. can be particularly annoying in modern buildings when the horizontal and vertical partitions of apartments are not properly soundproofed.
The necessary sound insulation from impact noise cannot be achieved simply by, for example, installing double glazing to reduce external airborne noise. The best and simplest solution, n which can be easily and economically implemented, is a floating floor, which reduces the transmission of noise from movement on the floor and also helps to reduce any further transmission through the air to the surrounding area.
The NEOSILENT FLOOR, thanks to its physical properties (low dynamic stiffness), is recommended for sound insulation of impact noise and is available for noise reduction in floating floor applications. NEWSllent floor is available in 1 type and a variety of thicknesses. The 031 produced from Neopor material of BASF, makes the best thermal insulation and covers loads of residential buildings, but also of the tertiary sector such as churches, schools, cinemas and restaurants.
MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS
Heating pipes, water pipes, electrical pipes, etc. should be fully covered with 15mm thick sound insulation plates as a minimum, to eliminate sound bridges. Before the floor is constructed, a perimeter expansion joint should be made of 8mm self-adhesive soundproofing tape on the wall side, with an integrated PE sheet to hold the cement mortar in place during the concreting phase.
NEOSILENT FLOOR soundproofing boards must be covered with a thin protective layer as a vapour barrier made of knitted PP Tacker fabric. The cement mortar covering NEOSILENT FLOOR shall be reinforced with Pavitec galvanized mesh with 50mm barrel. If underfloor heating is applied, then NEOSILENT FLOOR will be installed under the ISOFLOOR 75 - 25 EPS 150 slabs of the underfloor.
Finally, between the floor and the skirting board, soundproofing materials are placed that allow the floating floor to move for a minimum of 5mm on the vertical axis.

Peripor thermal insulation boards are the result of intensive research by BASF and are a new innovative material of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS). They are pink in colour and offer significantly reduced moisture absorption compared to conventional thermal insulation materials. Peripor is self-extinguishing Expanded Polystyrene of high density and low water absorption.
It is produced according to the specifications of EN 13163:2015 and has ISO 9001:2015 certificates for its production and CE marking. Due to its high compressive strength (250kpa at 10% of deformation) and its practically zero water absorption it can be used in thermal insulation and waterproofing applications up to 6 m depth.
Sound Insulating Filling of Wooden Floors with Special Granules of Self-extinguishing Expanded Polystyrene (EPS)
Coefficient of Thermal Conductivity:
λ = 0,056 W / mK
Thermal resistance for thickness d=50mm
R = 0,893 m2K / W
According to the Building Regulations, buildings must be designed and constructed to protect occupants from all forms of noise within the boundaries of their dwelling, when the noise does not originate from them.
DIN 4109 distinguishes between two ways in which sound is transmitted. By airborne transport (airborne), usually external building noise, and by solid-borne transport (impact noise), usually internal building noise. Impact noise, which can be caused by walking, displacement of appliances and furniture, poorly seated appliances, etc., can be particularly annoying in modern buildings, since to date, horizontal and vertical structural elements have rarely been thoroughly soundproofed.
The necessary sound insulation from impact noise cannot be achieved simply by, for example, installing double glazing to reduce external airborne noise.
STYROFILL is the only easy and economical way to fill wooden floors without unpleasant surprises. Due to its special characteristics (it does not absorb moisture and odors, does not preserve fungi, does not mold, does not itch the craftsman who places it, allows the ventilation of wood and does not preserve the flame) is an ideal solution to the problem of sound insulation of floors from impact noise, while offering thermal insulation.
It is used in nailed wooden floors (by filling the gaps it eliminates the noise caused by the drumming created by the floor by stepping or falling objects) and after a relevant test, it has a certificate from the National Technical University of Athens - Technical Materials Laboratory - Laboratory of Sound Engineering, stating that it has a Sound Insulation Capacity Lnw = 53 dB. The results have shown that in order to obtain satisfactory performance in sound insulation of wooden floors, STYROFILL should be combined with elastic gaskets (details can be found in the technical characteristics brochure).

Ideal ventilated roof insulation system made of renewable materials
The Neotetto Air®low carbon is the only insulating roof panel with integrated ventilation channels designed to increase the ventilation efficiency of ventilated roofs and offers excellent roof insulation.
It consists of a specially shaped plate measuring 1,20m x 1,20m made of 50% from the material Neopor BMB and 50% from the conventional Neopor EPS 100 type material, combined with a 9mm thick OSB-3 panel for external use.
Advantages of Neotetto Air® Low Carbon
Large ventilation: the special shape of the ventilation channels improves the efficiency of ventilation, maximises the air intake section and heat extraction from the upper part of the roof which would otherwise be overheated by the summer sun. Even in winter ventilation is beneficial because at high altitudes where snowfall is frequent it allows for uniform snow melting preventing stagnant water that could infiltrate the roof interior.
Overall durability: the Neotetto Air® Low Carbon has excellent resistance to compression. The larger surface area of the EPS ribs, due to their special configuration, increases the load-bearing capacity of the panel, better supporting the OSB, thus reducing the risk of bending when walking when the roof is constructed.
Limits heat loss in winter and maintains a cool environment in summer, allowing for reduced energy consumption for heating and cooling, resulting in significant savings in money
It does not deteriorate over time, unaffected by microorganisms, mould and weather conditions, ensuring health and long-term energy savings
It helps to protect the environment, reduce consumption because it emits small amounts of CO2 (greenhouse effect) into the atmosphere and conserve energy sources
Compatible with any type, pitch and roof cladding
Sturdy, walkable, easy to handle and provides space saving
Easy to install, even by a single person, with simple equipment
It has treads to avoid thermal bridges
The foaming during application is minimal, thanks to the small size of the cloth
It is environmentally friendly, since it is made entirely of recyclable materials
Allows the use of all possible membrane combinations
