According to an article in Kathimerini, the improvements that are being promoted include the increase of the advance payment to 50% from 30%, the inclusion in the programme of houses built after 1989, as well as the extension of the duration of the programme from four to six years.
In addition, holiday homes are expected to be included in the programme, while the plan being developed by the Ministry of Environment simplifies the specific requirements for a block of flats to be considered eligible and provides for the possibility of hiring a consultant who will work in combination with the energy inspector.
Eligible categories of interventions for the energy upgrade of buildings include the replacement of frames, the installation of shading systems, the installation of thermal insulation, the upgrade of the heating system and the installation of a hot water supply system.
